Eclipsed Moon in front of the Center of Our Galaxy - May 26, 2021
A joint effort between myself and Michael Diamant. Images captured by Michael from the lanai of his home in Lihue, Kauai. We worked together on the technical and composition aspects & I did most of the post-processing. Nikon D750 with 85 mm f/1.4 lens at f/1.4 . ISO 800, 3 seconds.
The Moon is passing in front of the constellation of Scorpio. The bright red star near the bottom center is Antares. The bright object to the right of Antares is the Globular Cluster Cr302. I do not know what it appears so bright. The dark patterns in the left center are due to interstellar dust.
