Gears & Wheels
Originally a challenge topic for the North Bethesda Camera Club, I decided to create a collection involving gears and wheels. The initial collection consists of images of the gear system for the 24-foot clocks of the "Bromo Tower" in downtown Baltimore, and wheels and gears from The Baltimore Fire Museum and The Baltimore Streetcar Museum.

Gearing on the Backside of the Bromo Seltzer Clock
The large gear at the bottom right is part of a worm gear assembly that transmits the rotational signal up to the height of the four clock faces. Also seen clearly is the silver colored drive chain that transfers energy from the gravity drive to the clock and on to the pendulum.
