Solar Eclipse Showing Prominences & the Corona
Taken August 21, 2017 in Driggs, Idaho using a Nikon D810 and a 300 mm f/2.8 Nikkor Lens. Composite of approximately 8 images, ranging from 1/30 second to 1/4000 second at ISO 64.
Drew gasps and ahs from the membership. Received an Honorable Mention in the September 2017 competition. The topic was "Nature" and no indication of the presence of mankind was permitted.
