Moody Wharam's Retirement 2017-06-02
A memorial seminar and toast/roast to my lifelong friend, Moody Wharam, as he retired from Johns Hopkins School of Medicine. About 150 guests gathered for this event. It included a seminar that may have been beyond most of the non-physicians and probably boring to the physicians. There were testimonies and roasts, and we had a grand time. The establishment of the Moody D. Wharam Professorship of Pediatric Oncology was announced.
He has been a treasured friend for 65 years now. We knew he was destined for greatness in the 5th grade, but ... wow!
Moody passed away on August 10, 2018 after a 2 1/2 year battle with ALS. His mind and spirit were as keen as ever, right up to the end. He is missed. Grievously missed.
